Student Naturalist Training

Are you interested in hiking, nature study, wildflower identification, bird watching, and outdoor wellness? If so, consider signing up for the Merced Vernal Pools & Grassland Reserve (MVPGR) Student Naturalist Training!

This non-credit, 10-week program for undergraduates will be offered during the Spring semester every year. The Student Naturalist training provides background knowledge and hands-on experience to become naturalists. Students will visit the Reserve often for field trips and will learn about its interesting ecology and environmental history. Trained students will have the opportunity to help lead future field trips; accompany professors on class field trips; help with K-12 field trips, and help with research and conservation projects. Additionally, the program has no fee and students are expected to attend all class meetings.

We hope you consider this fantastic opportunity to go outdoors and learn about the Merced Vernal Pools & Grassland Reserve!
