We went on two hiking trips on the Reserve. I really enjoyed both the day and the night hikes. We were able to experience something that we see everyday but now we actually got to SEE it and appreciate its beauty. Before I thought, so what? These are just fields of grass. The hikes opened up my eyes and I got to see all the little creatures that live there, their tunnels and caves. Even though the grass and most plants were dry, we loved to walk around and observe what nature had to offer.

I thought having the day and night hike was really cool. We got to see the same thing, anew. We got to see different creatures that came out at night, and where they lived. Seeing a cow’s skeleton on moon light was way better. I liked the night hike especially, because once you were on top of a hill, the wind blowing in your face, the full moon illuminating your surroundings, and the distant city lights upon the horizon were beautiful and breathtaking. I enjoyed these hikes and would definitely go again.
